View original topic: VW 1303 chassis to body seals/mounting blocks

Hello,
Does anyone have a diagram of all seals and mounting blocks between chassis and body, also the size maybe? I found a diagram on VWHeritage but it is for a beam axle beetle, not 1303. I am especially interested in the frame head mounting parts, I think there should be some mounting blocks. I have the mounting blocks at the rear, close to the shock mount. On VWHeritage there is a comment stating that 4 mounting blocks (2 per side) are needed for 1302 (maybe same on 1303?), and I do not know where these go, apart from what I have. I found various thickness mounting blocks, but for 1303 10mm or 7mm seem correct.

There are no rubber blocks between the body and frame head on 1303

Would love to know how you went with this.

I am getting ready to put the body back on my '72 and am having similar issues. The back mounts though do have 2 rubbers and a thick washer as well as a sleeve.

My biggest issue is getting the washers correct. I have all the bolts but some of the washers were to rusty to save.

The configuration of these parts varies by year.

People in North America can get the rubber at Wolfsburg West and the sleeve at Bugcity. Hoffmann Speedster in Germany makes the most accurate rubber pads for the rear shock tower on a Super Beetle, but I haven’t seen them sold in the U.S. The OP is in Romania, so they can order from HS easily.

Here is the sleeve.

The washer has an inner diameter of just over 10 mm to accommodate the M10x30 bolt on a 1972-up Super Beetle.
