While chasing down a rough idle after start issue I recently changed out the Temp 2 sensor and connector.
I learned that the individual pin kit replacement from GoWesty has a very precise crimp necessary to make correct. My 86 needed two wires going to one pin. Below you can see how I used a little bridge to bring down the crimping difficulty level a bit.
I then realized that getting the pins set in the connector head was no easy task. I struggled to get them to click in place.
My next lesson was that I could just go buy a connector with a pigtail already coming out. I did that it was oh so smooth to install with ease.
Final lesson was that my Temp 2 sensor and connector may look like a match made in heaven but when you go to connect the two the connector fails to "click & lock" into place. Plug holds and the engine runs good. About the same though and my overall rough idle problem persists.

Nice effort certainly, if only either of your chosen connectors were weatherproof...
I expect with in a year or two (depending on conditions) you'll already have enough
corrosion and added internal resistance to cause your ECU to struggle having to deal
with false voltage readings from your nice new sender... <sigh>
You'll get better, longer service using adhesive lined, heat shrink crimp connectors:

...and yes, you can put two wires together in one side, provided there is adequate room
for all conductors within the metal crimp and for the insulation within the heat shrink... 8)

replacing the connectors is in my future... thank you.
been chasing down wire harness issues myself. if only i didn't touch or look at them, they'd all be just fine...
i mean, who doesn't want to do this
