Hey all - does anyone know if there's a clip of some type on the end of the float on the fuel sending unit? Mine ('84 non-Syncro) doesn't have one, nor any kind of groove apparent for one. But there MUST be something or the float can slide right off the rod - I can't tell from GoWesty's picture if there's a retaining clip of some sort on their new one.
I suspect my clip has rusted off and fallen into the fuel tank...maybe? Or does the shape of the fuel tank prevent the float from coming off the rod?
Thank you for any info! |

If you watch this video from Ken at Vanagain, you might see what you're looking for. Around minute 12?

AH - you bet - at 11:55 I can see a small push-on circlip holding the float on, just as I suspected might be used.
Thank you very much for taking the time to post that - I will fudge up a similar clip out of the spare parts box.
