Can someone give me some insight how much a original tri-phase air cleaner is worth? I know they are rare, but I am not sure how much they are going for when they are listed--Thank you!

I have an identical Tri Phase. I'd like to know how big of an engine it is capable of filtering.

You mean a Donaldson Tri-Phase filter like this one?

This one above is a "Cycloflow" model. But still the same thing. Same company, slightly different model, 50 years later. Tri-Phase is a model name by Donaldson. I have an NOS Tri-Phase in my garage set aside for my Glitterbug fiberglass buggy.

Donaldson claims to have invented the 1st engine air filters well over 100 years ago. Here is their web site:

I didn't dig deeper, but I expect you can get the air flow/engine size data as well as finding replacement filter number and where to buy them from this site.

Here's a discussion about them on another offroad forum:

They were discussed in the original HP "Baja-Prepping VW Sedans and Buggies" book in 1970. Jeff Hibbard discussed them in his book 10 years later. They are imitated by the UMP filters and by many truck and heavy equipment makers. Like the plastic ones that have been popular with offroad racers the last 20-some years that came on Isuzu medium-duty trucks.

Are either of these tri-phase filters still for sale?

I sold a blue one like the one pictured for about $40 with new filter last year.
