I pulled into a parking lot and Herbie made nasty crack/crunch noise. When I pulled out, the steering was funny. I thought the tension leaves in the top beam had broken, or a set-screw came out. Further investigation and then going back to the parking lot to see what Herbie may have left behind and I found that my top beam adjuster came apart. I found this on the road:

I've broken adjuster screws before too.

I'll add some photos of the repair in a little while.
