I dug this out from the back of my buddy's property today and brought it home. Looks similar to an old Empi Sportster. No data plate of any kind. If its homemade, then it is very well done.
Anyone ever seen one like it?

Definitely looks like it used to be a split window bus. Pretty rad man

That looks like a VW front end on it so how does the steering shaft angle work like that? The angle is to steep to link up with a VW steering box. The last photo shows it pretty well.

As said above, it's an old bus chassis. The steering box is at the bottom of the column & has a drag link going to a bell crank at the center of the beam.

You can see how the beam is bolted at the ends of the shock towers.

As said, looks like someone took parts of a bus chassis and made a buggy out of it.

Ahh That explains it. I've never looked underneath a Bus before. Thanks.

it would look good with a plow up front and a thee point drawbar in back. not for use, but it looks more agricultural than tactical

Yep, its a shortened bus frame. The steering box is relocated behind the front beam, so the drag link goes forward. Pretty ingenious really. The frame was also snubbed just forward of the beam.
