Looking for cheap, but, if a few dollars justifies an increase that would be substantially beneficial,

please let me know

greggl4321 Mon Oct 14, 2019 1:59 pm

Okay,

Why shouldn't I buy a Honda Grom?

How often does it need a valve adjust?

What would the ideal weight be to ride this 250LBS motorcycle?

Are you off your meds again?

No actual help on those little scooters but...

For that kind of money I wonder if you are getting close to the price of an actual Honda (or whatever) scooter off craigslist or other sources.

Or get a clean used bicycle if you want to lose weight
(I thought that subject came up before)

I'll probably get a car.

Honda Accord

Scratch that, I'll probably go with a gas powered scooter.

It's the only thing that won't break the bank

Any thoughts on which scooter is the best?

Should I go with the zipper?

greggl4321 Mon Oct 14, 2019 6:55 pm

Does the budget mini scooter from hobbyworx have a better transmission?

Is a centrifugal clutch a cvt and is it reliable?

Yep. Was brought up in one of his topics a while ago.

I suspect you'll be disapointed. The ad says it has a top speed of 35kph, which is ~22mph.
Recommended weight limit is 100kg, which is 220lbs.
They just look cheap and flimsy compared to a proper scooter.

Compare..

I picked up that yellow '98 Honda Elite SA50 for a couple hundred a few years ago off craigslist. It's a great little scooter, the engine is capable of ~40mph stock.
It'll last forever if taken care of, has tires that'll handle an average pothole, an actual suspension system, lights + signals, faster, and isn't much (if any) more expensive.
Plus you can actually get parts for and repair it.

But whatever floats your goat.

I had a Honda 90 Trail many years ago. 90+ MPG in town, climb trees in low range, great little commuter bike but not so good in a collision I found out... That Olds 98 was tougher!

Shit, please excuse me.

I'm now reverting back to the idea of a Honda grom.

Liability insurance is only 109 per year!

While the "Grom" is a nice scooter, I'd be more inclined to get a Honda Monkey.
"Monkey" is a great name for a scooter and it would be fun to tell your friends that you drive it aggressively------"I'm going to spank the monkey in the woods this afternoon".

Can we get him back?
