Hey there,
I have a 66 type 1 transaxle and a 75+ irs type 1 transaxle. Is it possible to swap the R and P from the irs into the swing axle? Or can I put the swing axle differentials in the irs? Or does someone make adapters for the axles them self’s? The goal is to have the lower gears and still have a swing axle Trany.
Thanks |

Not quite sure what your objective is. The 66 swing trans has a 4.37 keyed r&p, while the 75 has a 3.88 splined. All of the parts in the 75 box are better, but they are not interchangeable. Any trans builder can assemble a swing box with the gear set that you spec. |

I have a "swing-axle" 4:37 R&P in the TYPE I IRS trans in my 1972 Class 11 pre-runner....trans was done by GARY BERG, here in Orange, CA.
