Other than paint and most of the interior looksto be a relatively unmolested car. Hope someone's able to find out what it sold for.

It'll probably get posted in the classifieds here for $20,000+ by a certain Ghia flipper.

🤔 some sort of early California CARB device?

There is a hose off the bottom of it that seems to go to an oil sender location? (To the right of the distributor)
A second hose goes up towards the air cleaner.....

Pooh's Honey pot? :?

It looks like the decal reads "Purolator". Perhaps a remote oil filter housing?

Too bad the battery was left in it.

I'm guessing an oil cooling filter.
The acorn knob on top unscrews giving access to a filter inside.
Maybe an old toilet paper filter set up?

Although it looks like PUROLATOR is the old sticker?

From the General/Chat forum:

Bryan67 wrote: It was in Fresno Ca. where I live. So not southern California, but central California. It was a nice car for sure, and sold for $21,500 to a person in Colorado.

Same owner since '63, big folder of receipts, nice color combo, seemingly unmolested... Yeah, I'da paid that if I had the chance!

Yes, it was a nice car

Damn, and it still has the plastic horn button in good shape, wish I could have that put in a 3D printer.

A bargain, from the looks of it.
