I previously started a thread on this like 4 years ago, planning to lift it. It ended up parked in my barn while we did a bunch of other stuff. 2 years ago I got back on it, then it sat again. I finally decided this was the year I will get it fully going.

Originally I found this and another car on craigslist in 2012. It was missing the front beam and engine, but otherwise was pretty much there. I drug it home and here is what has lead up to now.

Unloading.

Plucked a beam from a 68 bug carcass I had

The same bug had been on fire. Amazingly it wasn't the plastic fuel filter but I suspect a cheapo fuel pressure regulator caused it. I pulled the engine out and figured I could save it.

Chiseled the melted carb off the top of the case.

Pulled melted fuel pump base

One cylinder had some water in it. Cleaned it up with a stone hone

Back together

Fired right up and runs great

So I tossed the bug beam under it with drop spindles

Decided that wasn't low enough so I narrowed it 4" (wayyyy too much) and put air shocks on it. I took the rear down 2 clicks(I think). Looked ok, but I decided I wanted low low, so now I'm bagging the rear as well.

That brings us to now. I'm also trying to document the build on youtube. Be prepared for poor production quality.
