We try to keep our dog in the back. Current one rides on the rear seat now that she knows to stay in back.

When Nyla is the only other mammal present while I'm driving, she rides on the front passenger seat, wearing her harness with a loop around the backrest. When a human is occupying HER seat, she prefers to lay down between the front seats, which means the rear third of her is aft of the 3 inch drop in the floor. To address this, I'm making a stepped pad so she has a level spot. It's built around a core of dense anti-fatigue mat, with 1.5" open-cell foam up top and a block of 3" foam on the bottom. I've sewn the vinyl cover thus far, getting ready to sew a removable canvas cover so I can launder it.

Hey Snowday,

You care about your creatures. You are a good soul.

Namaste

PS - If only my mad Maine Coon, Savannah, would ride in my Vanagon wih me.
For some reason she prefers my Dacia Duster daily driver :-k

If he isn't on the rear seat as his usual throne, he's on the Floor somewhere.

Buck is front seat or bust.

First test of the between-the-seats pad, and she likes it!

The plastic cover is missing from my parking brake handle, so it does tend to catch on the metal tang that meets the brake light switch, but I'm otherwise satisfied. I'm almost done sewing the canvas cover.

Hello dogs.

Some of you know we were recently bereaved of our 5 year old Catahoulan hound mix, Nova

These pictures are warming my heart
