View original topic: A few more inputs? Oil fill breather hose on a 1776 engine

A few more inputs could help me with my decisions. I'm referring to #1, #2, #3,#4 and #5. The inputs I have received are great and appreciated. I am still interested in others and what you all have done and the success of it. Thanks again.
Hopefully this is an easy one. I have 40/44 dual Kadrons. I'm working with the breather hose from the oil filler box to the air cleaner. My engine is a 1776, mild cam, not a daily driver. I am mocking everything up before sending sheet metal out for powdercoat. Vintage Speed oil fill breather with one breather port: I am messing around with AN hose and fittings for this application: 1) should I run a single hose to the right air cleaner bottom or top? 2) does it matter what air cleaner it goes to? right or left 3) should it "T" and go to both air cleaners? 4) is it ok to use -6AN hose? 5) should I forget about going to the air cleaners and vent it to under the sheet metal like the original hard tube goes out?
The ideas are almost endless with AN hose and fittings. I figure it can't hurt to ask the experts. Remember there is no wrong answers only good ones.
Thank you all for your input!

If it were me, I would leave it go to ground. Somehow, the carb sucking oil foam just seems wrong to me. I know it doesn’t really suck anything. Since there is a big air filter, there is no vacuum. Nevertheless, less hoses, cleaner look.

Unless you plan on spinning it to the moon, the one vent should be fine.

1/2" braid looks and works great.

I asked this awhile back and was told by many I didn’t even need a vent tube with my 1776.

I’m of that same opinion, but I had a 1679 that puked oil spray so depending on how it’s driven venting may be necessary. I totally abused that thing. Drove it hard and fast as often as the opportunity arose.

On my 1835cc engine, I have a vintage oil filler extension, and it has a vented cap. Been like that for 43 years. See it here
