| I want to add some coolant to my system which has the G12 VW coolant in it. Ive heard that the newer G13 coolants are compatible? Any truth to this? |

| Last time I bought some at the dealer I noticed it changed form 12 to 13. I asked the parts desk guy about it, and he claimed it was fine to mix them. I’ve been running a combination of the 2 for a while now with no issues. For whatever that’s worth I guess. |

There are several G12s. However, it appears from this random chart off the internet that G13 can be added to any of them. Infact I think that's why they developed G13.
How much coolant are we talking about? Would it be easier to just add water if it's not too much? I doubt it will change the ratio very much. If my math is right and you lose a 1L if 50/50 and add 1L of water to top it off you end up with a 47/53 mixture. |

| Yeah I converted my Syncro to the pink G-12 a long time ago because my 2 newer VW cars call out for it. I used G-13 on my last MK4 Jetta TB change. |
