july 59, the fender change should be in august.

| The change was earlier in the model year. I think by Feb 59 they were using the new fender but still had the wiring tube. |

| We once had a home-market, Feb '59 (2274XXX) that had to be one of the last to have front fenders made using the old, worn-out dies. The sheet metal right around the buckets was distorted to the point where one would think it was in a collision, with the buckets pushed in. However, the headlight rims covered over most of the distortion, so all was well with the inspectors. |
