| Just got a 71 super beetle. A lot of work has been done and now I'm trying to fix the problems. The dash has all new gauges with tpi-tech gauges. Looks cool but I know that's not good cause first thing was fuel stabilizer was missing. Working that issue - new gauge and stabilizer, so I'm monitoring that. Second and importantly is the alternator issue. Battery last about a week then i have to charge the battery. Other forum said to look for idiot light. Well no light at ALL. I found the blue wire and it's not connected to anything. Need help on how to hook up this light so my charging system works. |

Wow, no charge light, I wonder how they expected to know if the belt came off and the cooling system stopped?
Any small 12 volt light will do, connect the blue wire to one terminal and the other to a source of 12v that's powered when the ignition is on (fuel gauge circuit perhaps?). |
