NOTE: He has stolen this person's name and is using it, there is a real person named Ofer Halimi

Scammer contacting a lot of people online via text

He often contact people with Wanted (WTB) ads and will send you photos stolen off the internet of parts or cars to try to scam you.

Says he in S. CA and will send a fake / Photoshop driver's license as proof.

Uses phone # 424-245-2787 and others too (see list below)

Previously tried to scam sell this car here too:

He often says he is a Samba member or a Samba Vendor.
"Hi my name is Larry and I'm thesamba member"
He is not.

He will often send a driver's license photo

Anyone randomly sending you their driver's license photo to prove they are real is also a huge scammer red flag.

Known to be trying to scam people on this Porsche, yellow Bay Window Bus, White Westy Camper Bus, a Hazet tool kit, a Petri wheel, and Fuchs wheels over and over.

He has been texting a lot of people with wanted ads.

Recently he used photos from this 15-Window that was listed on BAT to try to scam a member with a wanted ad for parts:

Last night he hit me up. Using Ofer as his name. Using images from oldbug.com.

Says he is from CA and now in Amarillo Tx. Phone numbers comes up as Beverly Hills.

Someone reported to me that this guy emailed them pics for their wanted ads but all he did was take the photos from his ad and photoshop the same parts onto a green background.

I always Google numbers before responding and this was the first page to pop up on Google.

Same guy, a Nigerian, used my pictures to try to scam some guy in Ohio. He scheduled a ppi and tried to get me to take the car there!

7207104662. Offered an 1987 vw Vanagon for $9,000. I found the same vw on eBay for 35,990. He’s full of shit.

Keeps texting me to complete the payment and he will ship the van.

Says his name is Jeff. Sent me pictures and videos of the van that we posted on eBay. Says he’s selling for a friend.

Thanks so much for posting this! This guy Jeff or whoever he is just text me for my wtb sunroof for my bus and I was stoked to find and almost sent him some money, but he wouldn’t send pictures. Then I search for his phone number here and bam!! Found this. Thanks Samba family

Received this today from 720-710-4662. Calling himself Jeff from Denver CO. Parting out a beautiful kombi. I'm brand new to this vw bus world and I knew right away no one would part this out.

This guy tried to sell me a set of Tail Lights in August 2020. He replied by text to my WTB ad. At first did not give a name or where he was from but the texts were from phone number 303-569-9728. He eventually used the name of a real member of TheSamba and even gave me the link to an ad by that person to prove who he was. Wouldn't leave me alone, and even texted me at 2am. I finally had to block his number.

Yes, that user is banned now.

He tries to post the tool kit, a Petri wheel, and a red primer 356 Porsche all the time.

He posted 10 ads today, only a couple made it through but they got removed soon afterward.
