I can't associate this with any particular car. But it's a staple in all of my cars with a CD, thumb-drive or programmable tuner. I just have to REALLY keep an eye on the speedometer!

Highway Star is always a good listen (actually, all of Machine Head is) but it's hard to hear in my 1960 356 Roadster with the top down over 30 MPH. Something about wind noise. 8) And I have an Alpine unit. A cassette deck my dad put in ages ago (he was the car's original owner) with an Ipod adapter.

interesting...

I guess I have 3 songs, 1 car.

graduated in '97 and was driving a clapped the fuck out '88 M3 (if I only knew...) anyway in the spring of '98 I traded it in on a brand new VR6 GTI.

intergalactic by the beastie boys, slide by the goo goo dolls and you get what you give by the new radicals. all 3 played on my way home from the dealer.

that car was QUICK by the standards of the day. it was like 4 tenths slower than a mustang gt at the time and surprised a lot of people.

ended up selling it after a few years to buy my first house. and that's the day a piece of Skills died

fuck...now i'm thinking of this song....thanks

INXS- wow! Can't believe how many of us have them in common. My senior quote involved INXS and buses of all things. Their first album was one I bought during the summer of '85 when I had a '74 bay-

But a song that strongly reminds me of a car is "Oh My God" by The Police- from the then-new in summer of '83 album, "Synchronicity." Played it all the time in my '75 Datsun li'l hustler pickup.

Maybe because many of us came of age during the '80s. (arguably the BEST generation of music diversity and evolution :) !!)

BTW, for those interested in free MP3 and MP4 music downloads of your favorite tunes to your Music files, I found https://online.freemusicdownloads.world/

The site is a fickle bitch, so mixing up your search names by artist or song may be required. But the downloads (once you find them) are tops! (Be sure to click "Download to Local")

Enjoy!

These two always remind me of tooling around in my first Squareback- 1972 Kasan Red with dealer A/C... original Sapphire AM radio with a Radio Shaft FM converter. In those days radio was all local, and Cleveland's M-105 and WMMS 101 FM only played the album versions.

"Games People Play"- Spinners

"Who's That Lady"- Isley Bros. with Ernie Isley's incredible elongated guitar solo:

Guess I am on a music jag today. :D

Tram Wed Jul 22, 2020 12:58 pm

Isleys... this song was all over the air when I bought my Westfalia. Only new car I ever bought. I jammed to this in the service dept. after hours when they allowed me to install my own A/C that I bought at dealer cost. I jammed to it rolling around Akron/ Cleveland/ Canton/ Youngstown all summer long:

This, too. Anyone remember this?

Yeah, I was heavy into the funk in those days. Beatles were long broken up, Lennon wasn't recording, Dylan had just gone all Christian, disco sucked.

I stuck a top of the line Krako AM/ FM/ Cassette with woodgrain faceplate and auto reverse in that Bus.

Fun times!!

See, now, THAT'S what I'm talkin about! :D \:D/ The one that follows is a good one, too... "Strawberry Letter 23!!"

And, now... just for the funk of it...

Fuck... now I am flying down I-77 in that Bus again... :)
