Ö heard an NPR show today, discussing race - seems only in the USA, do blacks consider themselves black and whites, white - seems in the mosta' the resta' the world, people are just people - I once worked with a black guy from Trinidad and he told me, he never thought of himself as black, until he got here, where others told him, he was black and he responded, "I am?"

My 93 year old dad was taught racism as a boy. My wifeís mother who would be 96 now was taught to fear different races. Think of the times they grew up in. I grew up in the south in 1960s racism alive and well. Only recently do I see it getting better but still a long way to go. The south is still backwards which is one reason I got away from there. The Native American people pretty much treated like shit too. Not sure if itís just an American thing, racism has caused suffering all over the world historically. Adolf comes to mind.
