Just looked at a 76 Camper that had an odd problem. I have not worked on a lot of buses, so bear with me. We were doing and initial inspection of a recent purchase for a customer. We pulled the passenger rear and saw the e brake cable and arm wore from contact with the drum. Everything looked like it was assembled correctly. We were not able to get the drivers side off to compare and we will deal with that when it comes back next week for the misc repair it needs.
After doing some digging, the drums are the narrow 5 pattern, but are like an early bus style (but pressed in studs) - without the axle hub and separate drum. So, obviously I have to order the correct parts. Sound about right? |

Huh?, sounds about wrong, I've never even heard of a small 5 drum that's a single piece. :? |

| Me either, but what I am guessing is that somehow they had a drum drilled or something. I don't have the car here until I get the parts it. I am hoping like hell the don't have Chevy rims or something on it. but it had stock VW hibcaps. Gonna ask yje owner to measure the bolt circle pattern to play it safe. |

| In Pennsylvania I am guessing that you just have a rusty mess where the drums are virtually welded to the hubs by rust. Maybe you have a poorly made cable or the hole in the backing plate was so rusty the sheath for the cable never fit properly into place. |
