View original topic: Recommendations for a new welder

Back in August 2013, I bought a Northern Industrial 140i mig welder. Unfortunately, they haven't offered a spool gun for it, since the Klutch brand took over. So I'll be looking to get a different welder, more than likely either a straight up 240v or go with a multi voltage that can go either 120 or 240. Since I'm going to doing a buggy frame for on and off road (trail riding), need something that will do well. I'd prefer to go newer, because older ones don't always have new available parts unless it has more of a universal plug in like Dinse or what have you. I know the good brand, like Miller, Lincoln, ESAB, etc. How do say the Vulcans, Titanium, Eastwood, and Everlast hold up?

The Paint / Body forum has a stickie about welders. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=157122

I strongly recommend a 220/240V welder.
