I think Bill’s comments ring true for a lot of us - good original cars that were lost as enlightenment hadn’t reached us yet, or a repaint was just what you did to make everything neat, uniform and shiny again.
There are, of course, some people still doing this now. |

This Rag Top is the car I was thinking about when I posted. A before and after shot. All it really needed was a Professionals Detailer to work his magic on it.
