i have searched up and down and cant find any info on putting disc brakes on small nut reduction boxes, i saw someone did a irs reduction box set up with disc brakes but they did not really specify how they did the disc brakes any help would be much appreciated i do not want to get rid of the reduction boxes

There arent any kits for this. Probably because there isnt enough room

not necessarily looking for a kit more along the lines if anyone know whats in the way and whats involved in it, i have read somewhere cant remember where that you can mod a type 3 kit but i have no more info then that

considering that there is so much going on on a reduction box rear, like the emergency brake for example, are you sure you need disk brakes on the rear?

are you going racing? disk brakes up front should give you plenty of stopping power?

i am not going racing but i dont like having to adjust the drums all the time, the fronts do provide enough stopping power, i would not mind more, and how much stuff do we actually put on our cars that we actually need, i just want to set up discs on the boxes so its discs all around and never have to adjust anything

Russ at Old Speed had said he might attempt a kit in the future, might want to check with him. He is located in Southern California.

Sounds like a good project to undertake. It comes up every so often, but Ive need seen one. Keeping it inside the fender wells is part of the issue

The amount of time you will spend cobbeling something together will eat up the same amount of time as 10 years worth of brake adjustments. Plus the time spent inspecting and adjusting brakes might lead you to find other issues that might no be caught with a set it and forget it mentality.

If the fronts already off the ground for a king and link pin PM a brake adjustment is only about 10 extra minutes. If you lift the rear to do a valve adjustment another 10 minutes for a rear brake adjustment.

I think Russ at Old speed did some prelim work on this, but never got anywhere. The RGB case makes mounting a caliper mount nearly impossible unless the wheel is spaced wayyy outward. Then there is the Ebrake issue

If your willing to go straight axle, then it can be done - no rgb's
