Just wondering how many miles is normal for the lower ball joints. My 83 1/2 needs them because the boots are shot, while the boots on my '91 look just fine, but the one upper joint has quite a bit of slop and needs replacement while the other upper joint seems fine.
Just wondering when the lower ball joints for a highway rig typically need replacement assuming the boots have not failed. Guess I would ask the same for the front suspension bushings. |

My 84 has its original lower ball joints with about 280,000 miles on them.
I did replace the boots a while back (the joint still felt solid). Pretty easy to pop the joint and sneak in there with replacement boots. These are the ones I used:
