Hey everyone,
I have an 87 tin top. The AC compressor was removed and the lines were capped before I bought it. At this point getting the AC working again is not a priority. Ive been chasing down a hard start problem as well as a tendency for the RPM to jump from normal idle to a high RPM and stay there after driving for awhile.
Regardless,
I've been spending quite a bit of time messing around in the engine bay, and the mount for the AC compressor that bolts to the block is just getting in the way, so I want to remove it until I decide to bring back the AC, but, I'm not sure if I can just unbolt it or if it also acts as a cover plate for the case (gasketed). So, does anyone know if I can take it off without causing any problems?
Ps: I don't have Bentley manual.
Thanks for the help. |

8 mm Allen.
Go to it!
No worries.

you will love it being gone.. access to all important engine grounds, great spark plug access too. my bolts were crazy tight, fyi. make sure the holes are clean, tap hard on the allen to seat it and help break corrosion. |

Its a pain to remove with the intake manifold runners in place. I find it quicker to remove the intake runners on that side. |
