That stuff all stopped at my house for a few minutes... They opened the trailer door and wow... then, they added more to it!

Full Disclosure:

So after Trams, we were feeling good after getting the vert. So we start chatting and getting into the highway groove. Next thing I know we blew by your exit by 10 miles.

Nothing like adding time to the trip. If we hadn't done that, I would of chatted you up way more, took pics of stuff you may not of wanted to share and maybe used your bathroom  Sorry to dine and dash brother. I did want to hang out for longer than we did. The only evidence I have of it happening is the shot below with the squareback section loaded up. I didn't even take pics of it when I went with Bob later to give it to Jack.

I don't have anything worth taking pictures of

Im hoping that Ian at SoCal VW Restoration will be swinging by there next week while Im back up in Puyallup working. Then come home round the 13th and meet up with him here in Ramona.

Then yes, my stuff will be out of the clutches of the tweeker. Surprisingly he has kept his hair and teeth so far.

Fingers crossed!

Oh and hey! I just drove the bus yesterday to Home Depot for some Honey Do, then over to Lee's house to give him some shims to take out the hood springs in a T34.

I hear that Bus came from a meth lab as well. Birds of a feather? :o

Weren't you living in Bakersfield when you cut the roof off of that car?

Or was it Fresno..?

Yeah. More Junk!

So Ian at SoCal VW Restoration came through on the snatch and grab at Trams. Its been an off again - on again affar with shit weather some mechanical issues and theift. But so far Ian has been a solid guy. Im in Dallas as I type this, and will be home tomorrow. Ian picked this up for me and offered to hold it until I got back. Class act right there.

He grabbed the last of it. The old Lee Hedges 64, the 64 nose clip, a Mercedes roof clip that has a Hollandia sunroof, some odds and ends and an old jack, Jack.

That Sea Blue 1964 Coupe was my first T34, bought in 1987 for $1500 running & driving. Daily drove it for seven years until the engine gave-out. Jens Vagepohl (from Germany, living in Michigan) bought it and shipped it to Michigan where he was attending mechanic's college. It was a really fun T34 that got me started in this whole crazy passion. It's sad to see it in such poor condition but I'm glad to hear you've finally retrieved it and have plans to do something T34-related. San Diego will soon be the T34 Cabriolet (conversion) paradise!

Its just very interesting how these things come around. I remeber seeing it for sale years before I met you being amazed I was actually looking at one. This car has done some traveling for sure.

The for sale sign I found in the door.

Unfortunatly or fortunatly depending on how you look at it. It will either be sold on close to whats there - I have the doors and hoods, or Ill part it out to save others.

pitargue Tue Mar 02, 2021 4:22 pm

What set of unfortunately circumstances has led to the car to what it is now? :?:

obieoberstar Tue Mar 02, 2021 7:47 pm

Interesting that you bought that Type 34 in 1987 Lee. I bought my first one in July of 87. Too bad it's had a rough go of it but I'm glad it will live on as a cabrio.

And Jason, that jack is really something.

This will be the cabrio.

This will be sold on to make the cabrio.

I hope to have the stuff delivered to Ramona this weekend. Then I can get my grubby hands on it all again. See what I have, decide what to keep and then make a sale hopefully on some of the remainder.

That jack is Epic Jason! The blue car looks like a great project too - I don't suppose you'll have any problem finding it a good home.

I look forward to progress on the vert project :):):)
