Maybe some help here please.
How do you know if the hub seal needs replaced..I re did the brakes and wheel cylinders and all...question is they are leaking but not sure because donít they need drums on to fully set seal and not leak....

I have the drums off for weeks while re doing everything

I donít if they when drums where installed as it had not been driven in years.
Didnít want to replace for nothing before so many people say they donít get it right anyway and they still leak

Would hate to make a leak where there isnít one

When I first got my Buggy the right axle seal was leaking all over the underside of the car and engine so I ordered new bearings and seals. While waiting I noticed that the axle nut was just finger tight so I brake cleaned the drum and brake shoes and torqued it properly. The leak stopped. That was 4 years and many miles ago and I still have not installed the new parts.

same issue with my sandrail no leaks sitting, pulled drums off and it started leaking drain holes in bearing caps plugged so it didn't leak out the back like it is supposed to. put in new bearings and seals and replaced drums no leaks but haven't checked gear oil yet.
