There is a thread here on this bus. Its had a lot of significant welding done, but fairly well it seems. Cool project.

Just saw the build thread on this project. The chopped off 1961 bus that I posted about here a few weeks ago could have provided the perfect bottom half for this project, without sacrificing the more complete donor bus.

Hoping to find the top half for my bus - this gives me hope.

The donor bus wasn't that bad. Sad to see a bullet bus get cut up.:cry:

It was very close to being completed.

Oh man, what a crazy bus, like others have said it's a shame the 57 had to eat it. I would've bought it in a heartbeat. But nonetheless, Lawrence isn't wrong. It's better to have original metal than nothing else. And he would've spent another $10K-20K in KF metal.

Bus was built unconventionally in my back yard by me yes. I used a 57 kombi bus that was far from being mint. Reason I used 57 and not a later frame because there my are different frames ... pre 59 has different outriggers and torsion trans mounts setup I wanted the correct frame under the bus. Bus was far from mint and far from finished but it was saved in the most economical and methodical way. The bus will be heading to florida as of now. Thank most of your for the positive comments and inspiration while
