Hello,
Looks to be a 1970 or 71 model, rectangle side markers not round....

While my valve covers gently weep...

Last seen just outside Ithaca NY where JL overnighted

Lennon was a dick. I just watched a documentary on him. Well, once I saw what a dick he was I changed channels. I think he left his two kids something like $200k to split and he died with a bucket load of money. He’s not someone I’d consider a hero.

$200k (1980 dollars) is about $200k more than anyone ever left me :)

Maybe he did them a favor, and they learned self sufficiency?

George is my favorite Beatle. I think he drove a Beetle and liked VW’s if my memory is working today.

John Lennon Net Worth: John Lennon was an English musician, singer, and songwriter who had a net worth of $200 million dollars at the time of his death in 1980. That's the same as being worth $620 million in today's dollars after adjusting for inflation.

I’ll never forgive Yoko for killing David Bowie

He ordered Colt 45's by the case from the local liquor store and was rarely sober during his NY years. I doubt he drove much in that condition.

Hello,
Yes, he had the means for what, a Bentley? in the drive and a Rolls? in the garage.

Manfred.
At least, it wasn't Schlitz Malt liquor.... And, for the not driving; that's what LSD was for... You're more aware and in touch with whats around you. It's all in the experience my friend.
Nah, he had a driver that only dropped one tab...

Of course not. Still can't believe she did it to impress Mark David Chapman.

The Beatles are just like VW Fora, everything is good until a Split.

Must have been a baller too.

That other guy is shooting hoops at a basket that seems to be right above the post between the overhead doors.

Looks like John has his Chuck's on.
And with a fancy ABA ball to boot?

Heroin as well if I am not mistaken. He was certainly before my time, but I sure love the “Plastic Ono Band” album. Ringo was in ‘200 Motels’ which makes him my favorite.

The plaque in the museum is wrong. While it states:

The Museum plaque states ‘Starting in 1962 John Lennon and Paul McCartney conquered the world with the music of the Beatles. They unleashed enthusiasm that continues unabated to this day. In 1967, John Lennon ordered this 1300 Beetle, license number LMW 281F and used it for daily transportation. In 1969 this particular Beetle became world famous when it appeared on the cover of the Abbey Road album and gave rise to months of rumours of Paul McCartney’s death because of the license number 281F. It was acquired by VW at an auction in the summer of 1999’.

The car was in reality owned by a nearby resident of Abbey Road at the time of the photo-shoot (August 8, 1969) and never by John Lennon.
