Josef Ganz - Standard Superior
I've never heard of Josef Ganz, German/Jewish auto magazine editor and car designer. His pre-Beetle creation, the Standard Superior, looks a lot like a Beetle to me.
I've always felt compelled to defend my Bugs from their Nazi origin criticism. I'd say things like I didn't know much about the Nazi '30s but in the '60s the Hippies were anything but Nazi's.
