how do I get the axles out of a '59 split case tranny. I can't find the 'c-clip'!! or is there one on this trans. I am trying to put in a '65 trans, but I need those axles and axle tubes cause the wheel base is different right???? |

A 65 trans should have short axles in in already, unless someone has changed them. |

On a split case trans you have to disassemble it to take the axles out , they are different than the axles for a tunnel case trans and will not interchange . A 65 will have short axles already , no need to change them . TROY |

Likr Troy said, you have to completely split the trans to get the axles out. Then the whole diff with axles removes from the trans as a unit. You then have to split the diff housing after removing the ring gear.
The axles used on a split case trans are the same as up to 66. Some guys I know prefer using them since they've never had any hp put through them. |
