I'm having a tough time pulling my passenger side inner fender the last 1/4 inch on my '64 beetle. It was apparently bumped in the past and bent back slightly. I've hammer and dollied the wrinkles flat as bet as could but the nose still needs to come forward a bit more.
the picture with the white fender is after hammering, the others are before.
Has anyone had any luck slide hammering using the bumper mount?

You need steady pressure. Put it on something, like a frame rack, or between two trees/posts, and pull from the bumper mounts while working the wrinkles.
Or cut it off and replace it. |

Bolt the bumper iron in place tightly. Wrap a chain around it securely and the other end around a tree or concrete post. Reverse the car away in a straight line or pull it back until there is a strain on the chain. With a hammer and dolly hammer the wrinkles flat and release the tension. Repeat until lined up |
