If I am spray painting my '70 Beetle using a paint that requires a 4:3:1 ratio of paint/thinner/catalyst, how much paint will I need to do several coats and get a nice glossy coverage?
1 Gallon? 1.5 Gallons? More?
(Know that I am a newbie with auto painting and am sure to make some mistakes and not get everything perfect the first time.) |

That’s a lot of reducer, that’s going to take a lot of coats to get coverage and enough material to sand out the inevitable newbie mistakes.
I’d get a gallon of color. That will net you two gallons of sprayable material. |

A gallon should be more than enough for multiple coats on a Bug. You might even have enough to paint two small cars with one can  |
