Hi!

What do folks recommend as the best way to break in a rebuilt 2,2l Subrau engine in my 90 Vanagon Westy?

drive it like you stole it and dump the oil.

i usually go around town and have a route that takes me up hill both ways so i run that about 4-5x to seat the rings.

after that i spin on a new filter, then drop the oil and filter at 500 miles.

i use a break in oil as suggested by my machine shop for the first 2 oil changes then i switch to conventional oil.
