Getting back on track:

Now I know how golf fans felt about Tiger Woods when he wasn't playing for whatever medical reason (his back, his knee) yet they continued to talk about him during tournaments.

Ms. Biles has put herself in an awkward situation - she's wishy, washy about competing, is on the sidelines cheering on her teammates, all the while getting attention for her mental health.

Some think she should stay and support her team and people have a problem with that. Others think she should return to the USA if she isn't going to compete and people have a problem with that.

Some think they should quit talking about her because it's about the Olympics. Others think that TV should be transparent and use it as a platform to talk about mental health.

She is in a no-win public opinion situation.

Simply not true. I have had probably more than 30 of these in the last 25 years, some quite large. There are ways to mitigate the pain and help them pass. I never missed a day of work or life over one, with the exception of the first one or two- the first one mainly because I didn't know what was happening and the anxiety was quite extreme on top of the pain.

It's possible. It's usually when the kidney stone moves into your ureter that it causes pain.

all of that aside....when you make the decision to be a 'pro athlete' last i checked no one put a gun to you head to do so. doors open...leave any time you want.

people crack under pressure i'll give you that. doesn't matter if you're doing cartwheels chasing a ball or handing ice cream over a counter. so many factors go into having a breakdown... when you have 'had it' it's time to do something.

and nothing for nothing....so many people have pulled themselves out of the "hood" or poverty because it was their DRIVE to do so. it has no bearing on their skin color or nationality....they had the drive to make a difference. equal opportunity doesn't mean equal results.

there are 2 types of people in this world....those who fight to better their situation and those that don't.

Today’s coverage of women’s diving is excellent. Many great stories and profiles of the ones competing years of hard work to get a spot on the team😀 seems China has dominated this sport winning gold for the last 30 years and they look to win again. Shit I’m glued to the chair now because women’s beach volleyball is up next😀

Why not just enjoy the show ? The nice thing about being retired is when things like this happen you can devote full attention

I've had 3 kidney tones in 43 years, first two in the late 1970s. In between pain attacks (when the stone is working its way from kidney to bladder, there was considerable pain, but in waves, so I could be fine for a day or two. So this can happen.
