Hello Team,
Question on Zwitter / Oval gear ratio differences.
I've been driving my 25hp Zwitter with a later '56 box in and can only say it seems to go quite well.
However, I'm rebuilding the original '52 box to go back in and note there's differences between the gear and final drive ratios.
The Zwitter box has a 35 tooth crownwheel and 8 tooth pinion, so 4.375:1 by my calculation and the '56 box has a 31 tooth crownwheel and 7 tooth pinion, so 4.42:1
I see 1st,2nd,3rd gears differ also, however, 4th appears to be the same.
So my question is -
Will I notice any difference going from the Oval box to the Zwitter box?
4.375 to 4.42 is only 1% difference, so I'm assuming it'll run on the motorway quite happily??
