View original topic: I added Bluetooth to my Sapphire III

The ‘66 Beetle I acquired a few weeks ago came with what I assume is it’s original, working Sapphire III AM radio that was somehow converted to 12 volts by the PO.

After researching different ways to be able to listen to music in the car I decided on this $99 RediRad, https://redirad.com/ that connects between the radio and antenna and allows you to plug in any device with a headphone jack to listen through the radio.

I thought that was pretty cool but even better was that I had this $12 Drok Bluetooth module https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P94Z9XR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_03A7DWY01XNA50MKJ2KM laying around from an electronics project I never completed that can also be plugged in.

I enclosed the module in a small plastic project box and it’s all installed neatly behind the dash and my iPhone automatically connects to my radio when I start the car.
