Hi everyone
I hope this gets some views as it's a fantastic chance to showcase what is still on the roads here. Some aircooled sightings from my daily drives. I will add more as they happen...
enjoy

We had a fantastic 'bonnets up' day at the Windhoek Old Wheelers Club yesterday. Some air-cooled impressions:

Size is like latest American Version - Beetle / Thing. Just looks like they have an adapter between the fender and light. |

It looks like the same exact paint color as the Bug above it.
The Baja Bug looks pretty nice. |

There used to be a kit available here with a different fiberglass front hood, rear "skirt" and different fenders. I have no idea if anyone still makes them or sells them locally, but in he 1980's it used to be popular to convert the Beetle to Baja Bug as we have a lot of beach to run them on and dunes to run them in...
The yellow does look the same - I have no idea if it is original. |

Just found your thread and I'm enjoying it! Thanks. I'm sure I will have questions at some point. |

An unusual aircooled which took part in last Saturday"s Old Wheelers Club of Namibia Event which was held with the cooperation of the City of Windhoek Fire Brigade.
The building in the background of the 356 is the Alte Feste, the oldest stone building in Windhoek.
The photo at the fire station is with the oldest vehicle our fire brigade still has in use today, a 1960 model. It is mostly used for processions, but every now and again, when additional transport is required, it is still put on active duty.
