A lot of times when I get gas or stop at a store people approach me and are curious about my bug. Many want to share a vdub story from their youth. You know the drill.
Every once in a while I'll tell someone "You know, actually, this car has two engines." I'll point to the front and say "It has the regular engine under the hood," then I'll walk to the back of the car and pop open the deck lid and say "then I installed a spare engine in the trunk."
At this point they will be staring, perfectly amazed. Then I'll say "And here is the regular engine under the hood." and walk to the front of the car and pretend it's stuck and I can't get it open.
Then I'll confess to be the smart ass that I am, and pop the trunk so they can see that there is no engine, but a spare tire instead.
Ohhh, what can I say? It's all in good fun :) |

It compensates for the Type 3 cars which apparently had no engine.

| :lol: I was moving stuff on my Squareback from the trunk to the frunk and had them both open and some dude saw the frunk, walks back and sees my trunk with a bicycle in it and walks back and forth 5 times before asking where the engine was :lol: :lol: |
