My wipers have started to go haywire and it is both sad and hilarious.
Any ideas on how to fix this one?

| I'm sure it could be fixed, but I don't think you should. It's too funny. |

You may be able to get away with removing the black cap, nut, and wavy washer from the offending side and then putting a 7mm washer back on first and then everything else. A 7mm washer should fit over the ends of the splines on the shaft and inside the arm without interfering with the cap, other sizes will not. If there is sufficiently meat left inside the eye on the arm then you can use a dental pick to clean the splines on the shaft, but if the eye already sits way low on the splines cleaning the spline could make things worse. Loctite the nut and torque it down well.
Add a 7mm washer to the driver's side while you are at it.
If this hack doesn't work you will have to find arms that are in better condition. |

you need to remove the wiper arm, and clean the wiper post splines with a pick/awl. then reset the wiper, you lose a little material each time so don't let it go unabated alot.
also be careful not to over tighten the nut, you can shear the small threaded shaft easily.. |
