I am having an issue with the internal butterfly flappers on aftermarket heater boxes that control the exit of the heated air to the hoses that connect to the tubes on the body. The butterflies stick and will not fully close without manually pushing on them even though the lever is fully releasing. Has anyone had a similar problem and developed a fix for this problem short of replacing the heater boxes with oem boxes? Thanks for any and all advice. |

Short of taking them apart and seeing where it binds have you considered adding a return spring? |

The external levers work fine, have return springs and operate full open/close travel. It's the flapper valves inside the boxes that stick open and won't fully close without reaching into the hot air outlets and manually pushing on the upper half of the flapper. |

Do you have the rotary spring on the lever shaft?
Part 41.
You might have to open the seams and discover what is binding. They should shut. |
