| Car has rear disc brakes. Oil is leaking out of the wheel end of one driveshaft. Appears to miss the disc and runs down the wheel to the rim when stood. Not a lot of oil just a smear getting on to the tyre but can see some all round the wheel rim after a long run. What needs replacing. |

| Smell it to see if it's brake fluid or trans. oil. Is there any "Growling" when you drive? |

| Brake fluid has a strange feeling to once on your fingers. Not at all slippery like gear lube. |

Brake fluid should dissolve in water.
Gear oil has a distinctive odor, and is not miscible with water. |

Oil leak. Looking at the spares that came with the car I see two hub seal kits, so now I know why.
Reading about the kit there is a metal spacer/ring which is supposed to be chamfered on one inner edge and opposite outer edge, but mine look almost plain. It is said not to use these. Advice. |

| I would use the old spacers with the chamfer and inspect the axel boots while you are under there. |
