Steve

I read the description, Diamond Green Metallic is the color. Nice.

I suspect the description is incorrect. Diamond Green Metallic was used for the beetle in 1956, not ghias. I believe the correct color should be Lizard Green as you originally noted, and should have a deep green roof. But perhaps the person who had the car painted looked at 1956 VW colors and assumed it was Diamond Green.

It's one of my favorites. Then, I read the description and did'nt want the forum police to say (Why don't you read the description first, etc etc..) That's the reason for the edit.

That car was endlessly advertised on German and International sites for a couple years in a row, in the northern part of Germany (around Hamburg), for the then price of 35.000 or in some places 45.000. The mirror and the engine look line up, and the front seats are black leather/ette. I wonder why the price has gone down?

EDIT: Found it : https://www.classicdigest.com/de/cars/volkswagen/karmann-ghia/141724
Seems they improved some details but damn, the price is very different :?

Yes I remember it being posted here a couple of years ago and Udo commented on it...from an informed viewpoint. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Yes found the thread but little about the car apart from it being the subject of a scam for sale advert in Aug 2020: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9435325&highlight=#9435325

I'll ask Udo what he knows of this Lowlight. :)

Ad Claims it’s mostly original with a 1600 engine and black interior?

Yeah like the original '56 fuel gauge and sender, twin port engine and cruel treatment of lovely thin back seats. In its favour the body and paint looks good but what's a good price to turn that into nice '56.

I know my '58 has lot's of incorrect parts but I wasn't paying a premium price for it.

Hideous cock-up on the rims. Reasonable but you should expect accuracy at that price on a frame off restoration.

Interior naturally is wrong.

Looks like a good solid car. They should really add to the description and provide more pics, interior, engine....

That's likely to sell in the UK or mainland Europe where prices are always higher.

I guess the ad is working, making me interested and needing more info. Looks like Cypress Green. What steering wheel is on her?
Seems like a good/fair deal in the UK?
