I was thinking about this earlier today, however, was reminded by a um... certain someone
Why is it that when your friend does something wrong, you try to find ways to support and justify them. But when a fellow brother/sister does the same wrong, we are so quick to bash and judge them?
Surely, someone has the answer? |

I think it has more to do with how you view your immediate family. I have always judged people equally, and I don't even like using the term "judged." |

The very nature of being a "friend" is to be supportive and "on the same team".
But sometimes you have to tell your team mate what they don't want to hear, and if done right that's priceless. You have to be right in order to go against the default.
While telling people on the other team what they "don't want to hear" is a fun sport.
Wait, we are all on the same team? Yes and no. |

You can pick your friends
and you can pick your nose
But you can't pick your friend's nose |

I see this w/ my cousins but not in my immediate family. We all fly on our own and do things under our own steam. There will be some misunderstandings sometimes..and you have to be the cooler head at times and not take sides. But point out the bad part you must.
As far as friendship is concerned, I do not have criminals in my immediate circle of friends. I cannot be associated w/ any criminals. YOu have to keep your friends in check when they are about to make a fool of themselves. You just have to be honest and direct. And if they insist on doing stupid stuff, I have to cut them loose.
I don't like surprises -
I have known people who cannot get along w/ their own family members..even siblings. I have befriended both sides and be neutral. I just tell them to wait for me to leave before they kill each other. :D |

i dont know  i got 8 borderline death threats  the poor guy was probably drunk or just that consumed by evil.
good points nsr, abscate, and modok. I just wish it was easier for us to treat strangers the same way we would out friends. or in my view, stop hurting the same creature as yourself when you have a God who loves everyone so much. I guess it would be like building a trillion piece jenga tower only to have it self combust. |

The RANTs was the best -
we also used to have a very active chat rooms and people got together to humble each other with insults. I got lots of death threats there all the time.
The Performance forums is limping along but alive - Modok and Tucker are keeping everyone in line mostly. |

Oh Tucker - you can insult a man's son in any forum and that can fly.
But...do NOT say anything bad about a man's daughter...ever. EVER. |
