I've been retired for about 3 years. When I first retired, I hated weekends because stores and roads were crowded. Did all my stuff during the week. Now I hate weekdays.....because the stock market is open  |

Do yourself a favor and don't follow it. Work on your car or do some gardening, or hang out on The Samba... :) I've been retired for 6 months now and after 50 years of working it is an adjustment, at least for me... 8) |

Working on trying not to look. I think I'll just have to keep the TV and computer off....spend more time driving my bug! |

I guess the point of your post is to complain about the stock market?
Is the stock market down?
Thanks for the heads up, going to go send some $$$$ to my 401K so I can make more money later |

Easy cure, do what I did, tried retirement for two years and now have a full time job doing 45+ hours a week and weekdays are fun again and get to spend the weekends working on VW's.
Extra bonus is there is more coin to buy parts with. |

The first test for a sophisticated investor is
“Do you follow the stock market?”
Yes , is an instant fail. |

Will Rogers' stock market advice:
"Buy low, sell high; and if it doesn't go up, don't buy it in the first place." |

That's what I do. My pensions and 401k are handled by an investment company where even the janitor knows more about this stuff than I....so I let them handle all this.
Soap/consumer products, golf, softball, tennis, and some mechanical stuff I do have some knowledge about..... |

Should have invested in "CRAZY" instead of the stock market. There seems to be a hugely growing trend for more of it these last few years. |

If all of your investment is in the stock market, you will go nuts watching the "roller coaster" that the market rides on. Financial advisors always say to diversify your portfolio. When we first started investing, our guy said that we could expect to average 7% per year return and that was many years ago. He was wrong in that the return has probably averaged upwards of 10% over its life. Some years have seen a 25% gain while others have seen a 15% loss. Let it ride. |

You can't watch the stock market every day and worry about it. I try to only check my investments once a month.
I enjoy watching the price of Gold, Silver, and Oil. To me that is a far better indicator of what is going on. |

I think coal is going to sky rocket. Probably replace oil entirely as the foundation for our economy. What was the question?
Retirement can kill ya, be careful. The best medicine is do what you did a bit here and there. Figure a work around on it, expand your control over your previous position in your day to day life. Make it your new job, you’re retiring.
Or not😂 |

I took up a new hobby - reloading ammo. I love it! I can see myself doing this stuff to pass time when I am retired.
Maybe take up welding and make a giant grill -? |
