In troubleshooting my oil pressure system in my 1975 camper (with 2.0 1979 engine) I found that the oil pressure light was hooked up to this connector which was lying about unconnected behind the dash.
What is this connector supposed to be plugged into it? The blue/green goes to oil pressure light in dash. The brown wire is going to ground in the dash and the blue wire has a female single wire connector (also not connected).
A matching blue male single connector comes from the connector (T8?) dash above the steering column. From passenger side top left connector.
I found the cable that was hooked up to the oil pressure switch disconnected in the cabin below the water reservoir. It had been spliced below the bus. There is a blue/green in engine compartment hooked up to pressure sender(Bosch?) and that is connected to a pressure gauge in the dash via blue/green cable.
So my question is, if this connector is some leftover homebrew wiring and what the solid blue wires are supposed to connect to if anything.
Thanks!

When the bus rolled off the boat it was connected to the EGR counter box in the speedometer cable down inside the nose below the heater outlet, originally it turned on the EGR or CAT light every XXX miles to tell you it's time to change the filter or the cat.

That is it! thank you! I found the box. The connector was taped, so it must have been disconnected a while ago.
I connected the plug to the connector and the oil pressure light came on. So someone must have swapped the light from EGR to oil pressure position. EGR position is empty.
I guess one doesn't really need this? From the wiring diagram, it seems it is just a light.
Thanks again! |

It's just a light, and it doesn't "sense" any problems with those systems, it's just a mileage timed reminder to get the bus serviced at the dealer. |
