What is everyone replacing their old injectors with? I believe mine are trash. I’ve looked at Go Westy but there has to be others? Thanks in advance [/u]

The ones on my 1.9L were high mileage when I sent them in for service, likely about 400K miles, the guy at the shop I sent them to told me I had wasted my money as the lifters had no adverse wear, so even though they were original they still had lots of life left in them. All he did beyond what adding fuel injection cleaner to the fuel would have done is replace a couple of melted caps.

Mansi sells injectors as do others.

I've found that servicing your original injectors is economical and highly successful.........

Some opt for ones sourced from the typical Vanagon parts suppliers. Others have theirs sent off to Mr. Injector for refurbishment.

I've got Marco Mansi fuel injectors. I've been really pleased with them.

I have had "witchhunter" service several different sets of various vehicle injectors. Love his service! But, I also have Mansi injectors.

As of yet, I've not seen any data that says new injectors perform better than recently serviced injectors.
Yes, there are indeed many glowing reviews of new injectors. But this is simply due to properly functioning injectors replacing poorly functioning injectors.
The same type of reviews are given for recently serviced injectors, functioning ones quite simply work better than dirty non functioning ones.

There is argument put forth that injector technology has advanced making a better spray pattern of fuel thus giving better performance.
But no data supports this, but it could be true.

Do as your budget allows, both options give you a better running engine. Servicing the injectors gives you the better running engine at a less sizable investment of $$$'s.

After dropping and cracking one of my OEMs, I went for a new set from Bus Depot which happened to be on sale at the time. They have been working great for 5K miles.

Which engine? There are lots of options for wxb motors, but not so much for 2.0 air-cooled.

There's also Injector rehab

Can't go wrong with getting the old ones tested & serviced.

I've used Mr Injector several times. He even sent me a video when a set failed and were beyond repair.

I replaced my injectors ( 85,000 mi ) with a set from Mansi's. Working great much better performance and gas milage...one of my better improvements to my 1991 Westy.

Not to harp on this but replacing clogged ineffective injectors with any new or cleaned injectors will produce these improvements.

No one (to my knowledge)has yet installed cleaned/serviced/tested OE injectors, driven a couple of tanks full and then installed new injectors to compare performance.
Better yet Dyno test them both for an absolute performance comparison (except fuel mileage)

Some years ago I had my 2.1 wbx rebuild by a mechanic/shop. The injectors were sent out to be cleaned, serviced, tested, calibrated. About 6 months later (2K miles) I put in Marco Mansi injectors. I noticed the differences... smoother idle, quicker acceleration, easier to pass from 60mph to 70mph. Sorry I have no Dyno test or other proof.
