I've seen pictures of split window standard Beetles with carpet or black hardboard in the rear luggage area, regardless whether the build is late 40s or early 50s. My 1950 standard (July 1950 build date) seemed to have original carpet in the rear, but I have no way of knowing the previous owner replaced it with carpet.
The current interior kit I purchased from Marcus - which is excellent - included rear carpet for the luggage area. I'm now trying to determine which covering is factory correct for my July 1950. |

| All original Late 40's and early 50's standards that I've seen in person have only had carpet but I'm curious what this other material is please post a picture. |
