Hi All,
I have an issue in my Volkswagen beetle 2.0 2011, 6 gear automatic transmission petrol model in India.
It runs fine for few km (20-30km ) but after that it shuts down and i have to wait for engine to cool down completely and only then it get started.
I got tested the radiators and fuse etc but all seems to be fine.
Mechanic said car has issue in valve body, we got it scan in Volkswagen workshop as well and they also said we need to replace the complete valve body for it.
Can you please suggest:
-if above analysis is fine and what I should do in this case
-Is there any way to fix it at cheaper cost
-should i replace valve body OR complete transmission unit (Second hand or new unit? 09G325039D) as per the analysis, any link for this second hand part
Regards

Not much of a later New Beetle person, but almost sounds like a vapor lock or if the FI uses some sort of accumulator, that might be bad (keeps pressure in fuel system).
Harder to tell if the vehicle isn't throwing any ECU codes. |

Does the tach show RPM when cranking after it "dies"? If not, that would indicate crank position sensor. It won't run if it doesn't know the crank is turning. |

Is the engine shutting off & not starting or is does the engine still run & the vehicle does not move?
Those transmissions are known to have valve body issues, I have replaced dozens of them. There is a place in the UK that rebuilds them. |
