Hey folks, sorry if this has been asked, I've searched and not finding exactly what I need...
I'm trying to finally get done with a rebuild I started over a year ago. Getting down to the end and found that when I installed the generator pulley it locks up against the housing, a quick inspection reveals there seems to be a missing spacer or bushing. This is a brand new Bosch GR15N, I checked the packaging it was in and there were no loose parts. Unfortunately I purchased this generator about 4 years ago so the receipt and possibility for return is long gone.
Does anyone have one laying around they could check and see if there's a collar or spacer that slides on the shaft behind the pulley? maybe take a photo or let me know the dimensions. I'm extremely frustrated since these generators now cost around $200 and I'd rather not buy a whole new one. Thanks in advance! -Paul

The OACDP parts page shows for 6V generator 111903021H (90mm diameter) and 113903021K (105mm) shows "distance washer 1.5mm" part number 111903123.
There is also another part 111903131A "distance washer 0.5mm" but there is no reference to what generator it belongs to other than a reference "x". |

Thanks viiking, but this GR15 is a 12V unit, I'm converting. That part number, 111903123 looks like a pulley shim for belt adjustment. I'm looking for more of a collar/sleeve. |

I think Part 16 is internal to the generator.
Given it’s a 12V OACDP has missing pages but it appears that the 12V does not have anything on the shaft at that location according to the part drawing.
Indeed Glenn’s drawing appears not to show any spacer at that location. There are shims on the pulley of course.
My 12V original generator does not have anything there but that may not be definitive or relevant to yours. I guess the real answer is that the generator and engine pulley should line up pretty much parallel so that the belt does not run off centre. |

It looks like part# 16 is the missing piece! Thanks!!!
There has to be something there, if you look at my photo you'll see that the rear half of the pulley will simply slide onto the shaft as the nut is tightened until it's pressed against the housing, gotta be some kind of a backstop. |

No!
If you look at the drawing that part (16) fits on the shaft before it is inserted and then touches the wavy washer(15) INSIDE the generator. There is a faint line on the drawing from the end of the shaft before it goes into the body of the generator. The line goes from the right back to the left and shows the other end of the shaft. |

Volkswagen is lazy and in a lot of the "official' parts fiche drawings they re-use drawings that don't really match the model exactly... (just try looking up 1.8 turbo pcv parts)! Looking at photos online I'm relatively certain that the distance piece shown is what's needed. |

Then you need no further input. |
