Can anyone tell me if the brackets on my bed are installed properly? Or should they be pointing down like the second photo?

Here are some pictures I found in the Gallery labeled as Westfalia Z-Bed Hinges 1968 to 1971, and the bed looks like yours, so it looks like your hinges are correct for the model of bed you have.

So I’ve got some new wheels. Oz racing splits. BBs style ones are up for grabs if anyone wants them. I went 195/65 on the rear tyre size, but it’s a little large. So going to try 185/60

Hi. Thanks so much for those. My bus is a 1972 so I may need the late bracket to fix the issue

Not a great deal to update on. Took it to icon fabs to get some work done

Mykez Sun Jul 13, 2025 5:39 am

Just got my bus back from Liam at Icon Fabrication in Sheffield where he did the chassis notches for me. Finally can get it to sit level cool

So I got the curtain rail up. And made this little cabinet for my fridge. Not sure what to do with the empty space at the side yet.

i also need a westfalia cupboard door so i can use the seal, hinges, handle and handle mechanism if anyone has one laying around willing to sell me?

Some factory Westy installations used that space for the spare tire

Finally did the bamboo headliner

OldSchoolVW's Sun Aug 03, 2025 4:20 pm

Headliner looks great! What did you use for the bows? Composite material? Wood?

Thank you. It was pvc trim I used to hold it in position. It worked quite well once I got the length correct

I made some tie backs out of rope

67rustavenger Sun Aug 10, 2025 12:13 pm

The tie ropes look great.
Do you pull the curtains out of the rope loop or, do the ropes unclip from the pillar to release the curtains?

Anyway, you're doing really nice work on your bay. I've been following along on the build.

Hi. Thank you :-)

I used magnetic hooks to keep them in place. But I might make them so you pull the curtains through now you mention it seems a better idea!
